Held over 5 days at the purpose-built Michael Centre in the leafy outer eastern Melbourne suburb of Warranwood, two back-to-back conferences explore the contribution of anthroposophic medicine towards understanding and caring for human beings through the life cycle, from child development, through health and illness, with a special focus on cancer as a life challenge, and coming to the end-of-life of the human being. International keynotes Dr Adam Blanning and Dr med. Marion Debus will lead the conference theme showcasing Anthroposophic medicine in the specialist areas of pediatrics, oncology and palliative care. You can attend either or both parts of the conference, or the public lectures separately if you are interested in finding out more.
Anthroposophic medicine, from its very beginnings, has incorporated nursing care, manual and artistic therapies and medical work, all vital to the practice of Anthroposophic medical care. For the 2-day conference, select from four Specialist Conferences over the first two days, to enhance individual modalities and multi-modality work together, with international guests, Dr Marion Debus from Switzerland (Oncology), Dr Katharina Gerlach from Germany (Eurythmy Therapy) and from Australia, Charlotte Rogers (Anthroposophical Nursing, Art and Massage Therapy) and Lisa Devine (Pastoral Medicine and Grief).
Followed by a 3 day General conference featuring presentations and case studies from both keynote speakers alongside local presenters. The conference will introduce and support a multidisciplinary team model of care for inter-professional break-out groups for case studies.
